   Bewitched, bothered and bewildered (Ella Fitzgerald) is an appropriate song for today’s adventures of DAFFY DON.

   What the heck is going on with the economy?  The MAIN STREET V. WALL STREET guy has us a ‘reelin’ and a rocking’.The S&P 500 decreased 3.5% Thursday to end the day at 5,268.05, having lost 10.4% thus far in 2025.  Daffy Don, The GREAT BULLSHITTER promised us, the Main Streeters, “DAY ONE…Price of eggs and gas would be drastically reduced”. Same guy who promised us a wall paid for by MEXICO.

GAS: January 30,2025: $3.12 per gallon (US)

          April 1, 2025:       $3.17

          April 11,2025:      $3.21

EGGS: November 2024: $3.65

          December 2024: $4.15

          April 1, 2025:  $5.90 : A new record high

          April 11,2025: $6.23 : A new record high, just in time for our EASTER EGG HUNT.

   A bit of TARIFF TRIVIA: William Jennings Bryan aka THE GREAT COMMONER, Secretary of State under Woodrow Wilson warned that tariffs would raise costs for manufacturers and “press with accumulated weight upon the person who uses the finished product.” It is interesting to note that BRYAN, a Democrat said that tariffs would raise wages but prices as well. He further stated that tariffs will lead to cronyism and corruption, boosting profits for the powerful industrialists (monopolies) of the day.(WaPo:4/9/25)

   Under FDR, Secretary of State CORDELL HULL pushed tariffs to a newer course (1934) with the Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act, which gave the president the power to negotiate trade deals on a bilateral basis. FDR signed 20 agreements covering 60 percent of U.S. trade over the next five years.

   So, where do we stand today with DAFFY DON’s newest 90 Day Moratorium. WTF knows?…”Be Cool”, he said, so cool I’ll be. But I’ll be watching bewitched, bothered and bewildered for sure, I’ll watch THE DOW, price of gold, unemployment, and my 401k.  His brilliant Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said DAFFY DON’s plan of first there are reciprocal tariffs, then more tariffs, now backed off of tariffs for 90 days was all part of the strategy. Press Secretary KAROLINE LEAVITT boldly stated one day that DAFFY DON is “not considering an extension or a delay.” Just as the late night TV ad adds, BUT WAIT, the very next day she informs us, “Many of you in the media clearly missed ‘The Art of the Deal.’ You clearly failed to see what President Trump is doing here.” Me, like the Exocist’s head, mine is definitely spinning.

   Meanwhile, the dopey, lame assed DEMS are sitting on their hands letting the world go by. No wonder they lost…
